A Very Special Birthday

This year was a special birthday for Mom. (I don't divulge secrets. You can guess. 21? 30? 40? etc...) My brother, Jade Star, and I have been planning this for some time. It was a mini family reunion, minus my dad, who stayed in Maine with the animals (dogs, cat, parrot, goose).

Mom flew and Jade Star and his family (Hilary, Finn [4], and Siri [13 months]) drove from California, enjoying Utah along the way. On day 1, we just hung out at our house, on day 2 we did a beach day at Chatfield State Park near Denver, Day 3 was a day in Boulder and date night for Jade Star and Hilary who borrowed our bikes and coasted to Louisville's downtown for the three Ds (dinner/drinks/dessert), and day 4 was Mom's birthday celebration (brunch at Mercury Cafe in Denver with a stop at the REI store in Denver and Confluence Park and a fabulous European lemon cake with ice cream). Fun was had by all.
