Mining Ruins and Lost Lake

Outside of town one might find headframes, assay offices, bunkhouses, stamp mills, cyanide mills, trams, blacksmith shops, and even dredges.

On Monday, Labor Day, Steve and I took a short hike into Lost Lake, located past the Town of Eldora, which is past Nederland. The big theme of the hike was mining ruins. We passed several abandoned mining camps and operations on our hike. I think we'll be returning to Lost Lake for overnight camping. It's accessible and beautiful with six camping sites.
