Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Whatever your life's work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Happy 80th Birthday Dr. King! Thank you for all that you did for our country, helping us to evolve a little closer to the original promise of our nation.

Today, Steve and I and our friends Andrea and Andy attended Denver's "Marade", the second largest - possibly the largest (based on record-breaking attendance) - celebration of Dr. King in America. What's a marade, you ask. A marade combines the protest elements of a march with the celebratory elements of a parade, an apt celebration for a man who brought our country so far, yet has passed the torch to us.

Spirits were high at the event. The temperature was, too: 65F, the weatherman predicted. I think Dr. King and Obama had morphed into one in the hearts and minds of many maraders.

Enjoy what we saw!
